ROTARACT KCMC BLOOD DRIVE: CHANGIA DAMU. OKOA MAISHA
BLOOD IS THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT THAT ANYONE CAN GIVE TO
ANOTHER PERSON - THE GIFT OF LIFE.
“
~ World Health Organization (WHO)
Being human, we are urged to donate blood to save the lives of many who need of it most:
From pregnant women especially those with complications, victims of trauma such as road
traffic accidents, regular transfusions among people with chronic diseases such as cancers
to children with anemia as a result of malnutrition.
In that regard and in the spirit of
service above self, the Rotaract
club of KCMC in collaboration with
TAMSA and the Blood Donation
Club of KCMUCo organized the
second edition of Blood Donation
project,
having
successfully
conducted the first one the previous
year. Information was shared via
different modalities; social media,
posters and even by the word of
mouth for several weeks after the
official announcement. The event
took place on 19th July 2019 at
the KCMC garden grounds with
attendance of students, staff and
the general public.
The team from National Blood
Transfusion
Services
(NTBS)
Northern Zone was there to
support in the overall arrangement
and functioning of the event. The
camp was in operation from 10 am
to 6pm, everyone was invited to join
this bold cause; men and women,
young, old etc. At the end of the day,
we had managed to successfully
collect 95 units of blood.
Be there for someone else, Give
Blood, Share life, Save lives.

Since blood can neither be
industrially made nor stored
indefinitely, a regular supply of
blood donors is needed.
