UP Diliman SCALED-UP INITIATIVES Intensified Campaign to Assign Research Load Credit/ Creative Work Load Credit to Faculty Members The enabling environment for research and creative work in UP Diliman was enhanced by OVCRD’s vigorous campaigns for the faculty to avail of Research and Creative Work Load Credits (RLC/CWLC). The first step in this campaign was the review and revision of the guidelines for assigning RLC and CWLC. The revisions were discussed in a series of UP Diliman Executive Committee meetings held in September to November 2011. Among other things, the revisions clarified the process flow for RLC/CWLC kinds of works that could qualify for RLC/ CWLC. The revisions also codified the coordinator role of the OVCRD in the awarding of RLC/CWLC. To operationalize the revisions, the OVCRD issued semestral calls for RLC/CWLC applications, with milestones and deadlines clearly indicated. A batch system (by college) of application submission was implemented. Application procedures and forms for research/ creative work projects with and without funding were delineated. strongly encouraged to send their applications early, through an online platform for grant applications submission created by the OVCRD’s Program Management and Resource Generation Office (PMRGO). With this campaign, the number of faculty members with RLC/CWLC almost doubled in a span of two years. In the second semester of 2010-2011, there were 14 faculty members with RLC/CWLC, most of them with 1 to 3 units of credit. By the second semester of 2011-2012, the number of faculty
