Charity ’ s Thoughts

Hi teaching friends and welcome to the July issue of The Organized Classroom Magazine ! This month is all about assessment . While assessing is certainly not high on our “ fun list ,” it is a necessity so we know what our students know and have learned along the way . Sometimes trying a new way to assess can help to overcome the dread that might be associated with test day . Hopefully you will find some new ideas on the following pages !
Looking for some assessment tools ? Make sure to stop by New and Noteworthy ( page 7 ) for some ideas ! Give Me Five ( page 9 ) this month includes five different ways to display your learning objectives ! Nothing like being organized AND cute all at the same time .
Our feature article brings some great tips and resources from Erin Klein , author of the Kleinspiration blog . She shares her technology and assessment combination knowledge with you in Creative Ways to Integrate Technology & the Common Core with Ease on page 11 .
Need some humor in your life ? Make sure you do not miss our We Asked , You Answered feature , which begins on page 4 ! This month the question was “ What is your funniest or craziest answer from a student on an assessment ?” and there were so many hilarious responses , we actually had to add another page ( and there were still more !) If you want to read the entire listing of funnies , stop by THIS LINK . And feel free to add your own as well ! Having some smiles even when discussing assessment is a great way to ease some of the tension .
Enjoy your July and make sure to be on the lookout for our big Back To School issue next month !
I would love to hear from you ! Make sure to visit me here too !
