Phil Stephenson (72-80) became the new chairman of the National Pig Association’s producer group in March 2015, stepping up to the top post after three years as vice-chairman. He has 700 sows at the pig farming business which he has run for the past 30 years. provides management and consultancy advice to farms, estates and allied industry trades. He is involved as a partner in the family farming business based in East Yorkshire and has interests as a non-executive director in other farming operations. He still lives relatively locally to Pocklington and has two children currently at the School aged 10 and 14. 1990 to 1999 R Jeremy Brooks (86-91) was ordained to the Christian Ministry in 2001, appointed Pastor of Salem Baptist Church, Ramsey, Cambridgeshire from 2001–2008 and Director of Ministry, Protestant Truth Society, Fleet Street, London from 2008–2012. He has been Pastor of Welcome Hall Evangelical Church, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire from 2012 to the present day. He married Lydia Watts in 2000 and is the father of five daughters and two sons. Angus Thomson (82-87) is living in Worcester with his wife, Lucy, and three children, Ben (16), Joe (14) and Sam (12). He works as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He recently completed the Iron Man Wales. Ben Bryden (91-96) has spent the last 19 years since leaving Pocklington working in the hospitality construction industry in Dubai. He has finally returned home to York where he is heading up a team of hospitality specialists in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the Kohler group, who also own Mira Showers. He now spends a lot of his time travelling through the EMEA region. Fraser Todd (73-83) is Managing Director of Pocklington-based company, LMA. The company is a specialist manufacturer of aerosol products for the veterinary, automotive, janitorial, industrial and paint sectors. He lives in Millington with his wife, Janet, and has two children. In his spare time he helps with his son’s rugby team, Pocklington RUFC under 14s. Rachel Clark (née Sweeting, 91-96) has set up a PR and content strategy agency, ‘Sweet + Salt’, after five years as PR Director at Savills. Her PR and comms experience spans the property industry, retail, food, drink and agriculture. He has over 30 years’ experience in the sector holding high profile roles at both Liverpool Victoria and the Association of British Insurers, before setting up his own consultancy business. He joined Engage Mutual in July 2014. John Gilmour (85-90) went on to study Geography at Liverpool University after his time at Pocklington. He joined the Navy and served on nuclear submarines for a number of years. After leaving the Navy he did a PGCE and went into teaching. He has worked in both the state and independent sector and is currently Deputy Head at Castle Court Prep School in Dorset, although he is due to move to Scotland to take up his first headship at Craigclowan Preparatory School in Perthshire. He often returns to Yorkshire to visit his mother and sister who both still live in the area. He is married with two children. He is now engaged in a cancer theranostic start-up after being Senior Vice President and General Manager of eBioscience. He is married to Julie Batterson-Ward and they have two children, Andrew (22) and Lindsay (20). Nigel Wellings (79-89) is working as a partner at the law firm, Clifford Chance. Having recently spent 4½ years in the firm’s Dubai office, he is back in London, where he lives with his wife and three children. Tim Woollias (77-86) is married with three children (girls aged 12, 9 and 9), and living in West London. He works for Google as Industry Leader (Retail) working with a portfolio of businesses to help them grow their digital activity.
