Latin Club: COVID-19 Edition

President Chloe Constantinides

Interviews: Kayley Dewitt and Anna Fletcher- Starting Latin Club in a Pandemic

New school year. Interesting circumstances. Obviously it's nearly impossible to start your school’s Latin Club “normal footing” but hopefully this article could help you.

Information hub

Technology has never been more important. Having a main source where people can obtain information about Latin Club will help you in communication and organization.

Website

A website is a great way to keep all of your information organized and readily available to people in your club. You don’t have to have coding experience either. If you choose the right platform to build a website it should be fairly easy to develop. Here are some popular platforms: Weebly (my personal favorite), Google sites, Wixs, Squarespace.

Remind

If you are aware of the Remind app this could be a very useful resource for your club. All you have to do is go to the app store, download the app, and start a class. From there it will give you a number and a message that people could text to join your “class”. With this, you can text announcements to people without having to give your number or make a groupchat. This source is great for daily updates about your club!

Social Media

All can agree that social media is a great platform on getting information. Instagram is usually the “common denominator” with kids. Social media is also a platform where you can distribute information in a more relaxed and fun way
