SUMMARY OF SEASON
For most people, it was the best season ever. A lot of records were broken. It was short, but sap ran really well. It was our best year, personally, by a few gallons. We had lower sugar content. It averaged from our vacuum system around 2 to 2.3. Towards the end of the season, it was closer to 2 percent. The season started early. A lot of people were making syrup in February. We made no syrup in April, which was odd. A few places up north did. The last weekend in March, the farms in central Minnesota were finishing. We had a lot of lighter syrup.
