"Trick-or-Treat So All Families Can Eat" a huge success!!
On October 30th and 31st, SDA held its first annual "Trick-or-Treat So All Families Can Eat" can drive. Members dressed up in costumes and went door-to-door around Dekalb asking for residents to donate non-parishable food items.
The group also arranged donation bins to be set up in the residence halls around campus to encourage fellow students to donate to the cause as well.
After two successful days of trick-or-treating and collecting, SDA managed to receive over 800 canned goods! SDA's Community Coordinator, Carolina Applebee, was estatic to far exceed the group's goal of 600 items.
All items collected were donated to Feed 'Em Soup and Barb's Food Mart here in the area. Great job to all or trick-or-treaters and volunteers!
A special thanks to Carolina Applebee and SDA's Student Action Committee for all their hard work and dedication to the event! The bar has certainly been set high for next year's event!
