June: Carl Froch scrapes a split decision over a clearly past his peak Mikkel Kessler. Froch and promoter Eddie Hearn say that the Nottingham brawler now clearly has the beating of new unified and undefeated super middleweight and light heavyweight champion Andre Ward.

July: After a 15th straight victory over a Latvian milkman, 'mad' Mick Hennessy declares that his charge, Chris Eubank Jr. is now ready to take on the divisions number 1 fighter, Sergio Martinez. "Chris is the best prospect I've ever seen - he's Britain's answer to Marvin Hagler" claims Hennessy. 2 days later, Eubank's next fight is announced - he will be contesting the vacant interim, silver, inter-continental 'regular' WBO title. Against 74 year old Glen Johnson. "It's the fight we always wanted and in many ways is tougher than Martinez" opines Hennesy as both Eubanks (Sr. and Jr.) strut, pose and glare in the background.

August: Freddie Flintoff announces his second professional boxing bout against former Olympic, British, European and Prize-fighter champion (and world title challenger), Audley Harrison. The fight is slammed as reckless and extremely dangerous... "He's not that bad" states Flintoff.

October: Bernard Hopkins is cracked out of his mummified casket one last time. After shaking off the cobwebs and tossing aside the walking stick, he proceeds to school Nathan Cleverly. Hopkins is declared as the oldest world champion ever, but is in second place as the oldest man ever. Behind Glen Johnson.
