EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ’ S REPORT
MITCHELL C . SKLAR
A Year Later
My June 2020 Executive Director ’ s Report was entitled “ Disappointing , but Inevitable ,” in which I announced the disappointing but inevitable news that our 2020 annual Training Conference had been cancelled . We are of course deeply grateful that conditions have significantly changed , and I am very pleased to confirm that we are full steam ahead for the 2021 NJSACOP Annual Training Conference & Police-Security Expo , which will take place August 23 rd – 26 th in Atlantic City . The State Association and the Middlesex County Association of Chiefs of Police have put together an outstanding agenda , which can be found elsewhere in this edition of the NJ Police Chief Magazine and on the NJSACOP website . In addition to the terrific fellowship and networking event that will take place on Host Chiefs Night that the Middlesex Chiefs have put together , our professional development scheduled is truly outstanding , with both Gordon Graham and Eric Daigle on the agenda . And of course , our installation banquet is always a highlight event . In addition to our Valor Award presentation , the Keynote will be delivered by LTC Dan Smith , a longtime friend of the Association from his time on the faculty of the US Military Academy at West Point .
Our Annual Conference is usually the capstone to our programming year , but this year it will serve in a sense as a springboard for the resumption of our in-person programming calendar . Please mark your calendar , send in your registration ( and don ’ t forget to register your personnel for one or both of the training sessions ), and join us for a great week of learning , networking , and connecting with your peers and colleagues .
It feels great to be able to say – see you at the Conference .
