Napoleon was born in Corsica, France on the 15 of August 1769 and died on the 5 of May 1821 on the remote island, Elba.
Napoleon started his military career as a Lt. and suppressed riots in Lion.
Napoleon probably first sympathized with the French in the French revolution of which he despised as can clearly be seen in his letter to the head of the rebels Pasquale Paoli:
Napoleon Bonaparte

As stated above, Napoleon hated the French crown and fought in his homeland of Corsica against the French crown in the French revolution. In the year 1798 the French government sent Napoleon to Egypt to separate Britain from India. After he conquered Egypt he got stuck there because the British sank the French fleet.
Napoleon got back to France to participate in the coup of 18 Brumaire, which made Napoleon the first consule of France.
After the revolt Napoleon made several reforms which included the Napoleon code, making Catholicism the official religion of France, giving himself the right to appoint the clergy, and many more.
"I was born when a nation died. Thirty thousand Frenchmen crept into our shores, drowning the throne of liberty in waves of blood. It is a sickening sight that struck me, from birth crib surrounded by the cries of the dead, groans of the oppressed and tears of despair. You left our island people and abounded joy."
