The T.AR.D.I.S. is The Doctor's time travelling space ship. The name stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space. It looks like a blue police box and it is way bigger on the inside. The T.A.R.D.I.S. used to have a functioning Chameleon Circuit (Cloaking device) but it broke while the T.AR.D.I.S. was in the police box form. That is why the T.A.R.D.I.S. looks this way. Also, the T.A.R.D.I.S. has other features.
Mostly human, the companions leave their normal lives to join The Doctor on his adventures. Each companion is special in their own way and each contributes to the doctor's behavior. There have been many companions because humans have a shorter lifespan than Time Lords. Most of the companions are female and most of them end up falling in love with him.
