Time to cook. I made my way to the kitchen and started peeling potatoes. I helped my dad make latkes (levivot). They always come out so delicious. I mixed the ingredients in a huge bowl as he started the fire on the stove. We each carefully made the potato patties and placed them in the pan. The oil hissed every time the potato made contact. “The hissing occurs when the oil and water meet.” explained my father. One pattie after another, until they were all done. They looked so yummy. I turned away and began placing the food on the table. Bowls full of applesauce and sour cream were placed down. A plate full of steaming hot latkes was laid down next to the bowls. Salads and other yummy things were scattered along the table. It looked so good. I walked away from the table, back to my room. I wore a dress, it was a new dress. Dresses from my favorite store were all on sale because Christmas was coming up. Oh, Everything is on sale because Christmas is coming up.
