Some parents at a local elementary school called Colonial Trail have been sending e-mails that are titled Save Our School. The e-mails are saying that the children that will live in the apartments, that aren’t even built yet, are not fit to go to the same school as their children. In elementary school, a child’s mind is going to develop immensely and most likely they will not care if their friends live in an apartment. The parents are being overprotective and stuck-up.
In a nearby neighborhood, the cost of a three bedroom apartment monthly is up to $3000. The apartments are not cheap and yet the people that are going to live in them are being called lower class. This would be a different situation if the apartments had tenants, but the apartments haven’t even started to be constructed yet. They are being judged when they don’t exist.
The parents are acting like they are much better than people that live in town houses, apartments, mobile homes, etc. When I was in elementary school, I didn’t care if my friends had a lot of money and it shouldn’t matter to parents either. The children are only going to get an education and gain friendships.
