GM Introduction The new No Man’s Land holds the key to lost family and friends, valuable art treasures, and if the rumors are true lots of gold bars! But even if the players know where to start do they really know what awaits them? And just what is the Special Operations Executive interest? This escapade is designed for 4 to 6 Rank 1 Psycrafters taken from the pre- generated character list found in Appendix 1. The goal of this adventure is to take the player characters from London (Episode 1), to Paris (Episode 2), to Berlin (Episode 3), and potentially on to Wewelsburg Castle (Episode 4), and then conclude after the trip back to London (Episode 5). Players may also optionally decide to go In Pursuit of Treasure (Episode 6) either before, after, or instead of their trip to Wewelsburg Castle. Each episode is designed to take 8 to 10 hours that can be split into 2 sessions. The characters should reach Rank 3 or 4 by the end of the adventure. Player Character Setup A complete list and overview of the pregenerated characters can be found in Appendix I. Players should be encouraged to select a diversity of character class as this will ultimately prove beneficial in terms of flexibility in approach to the challenges they will face during the adventure. The introduction to the adventure comes in the form of an invite to join Madame “G” at the Alchimie Noir nightclub; a hub for Psycrafter social and business activities. The basis for this request is to build a team to help Ernst(a) Bruer, aka “Ernie”, find out what has happened to his/her family back in Germany, bring them back to London if possible, and recover the family fortune. Consequently, it is a requirement that one player be Ernie. A pivotal moment will occur when the characters eventually arrive in Berlin and discover the records for Gordon Ashton. This requires that one of the party members have the John Benn orphanage backstory connection to Gordon. In terms of the pregenerated characters this is part of Mary Lewis’s history; she meets and falls for Gordon at the orphanage which carries on as a war-time romance that only ends with Gordon’s MIA, Presumed Dead status. The SOE believe that Gordon is still alive and an unwilling NecroMech. It is also their belief that an “emotional human connection” will make the difference in being able to “bring him in” and become an operational asset. If no one plays Mary then pick one of the other characters to have the orphanage connection, only to be discovered as a revelation in Berlin as “their childhood best friend has been taken”. Margaret Russell and Peter White are a pair who see themselves as the British equivalent to Bonnie and Clyde and are as equally inseparable. As such it is suggested that Margaret and Peter should both be played together. However, if Margaret is played alone then that player should decide just how she lost her partner in crime, perhaps shot during the last heist, and its impact on her. The same is true of Peter but due to his Immoral behavior, normally reigned in by Margaret, this could prove more problematic for the group. Or perhaps it will make things more interesting! Page 5
