Ever since the MVHA was founded in 1954, one of our most popular programs has been a member show-and-tell session. Many of our members have artifacts, memorabilia, old photos and stories that connect us to earlier days, and so from time to time, we set aside a meeting when our members can present and share their treasures. These presentations often trigger memories that inspire lively discussions, enhancing the experience. It’s been two years since our last show-and-tell program, and we’re excited to bring it back! An added bonus this time around: We will be setting up a “Memento Preservation Station” where MVHA volunteers will be on hand to digitally scan any Mountain View-related photos, photographic slides or ephemera (postcards, advertisements, business cards, etc.) that you bring. These images will then be added to our digital archives, ensuring that future generations will have access to them and allowing you to keep the originals. We will have a sign-up sheet at the event and will try to accommodate as many people as possible. Questions? Email us at [email protected] or call (650) 903-6890. We hope to see you at the Adobe on November 1st! The success of this program is directly dependent on YOU bringing something to talk about and/or show. Nothing is too trivial or insignificant, so don’t be shy! 1
