THE MOVEMENT OF TECHNOLOGY, CAN THE RETAIL WORLD KEEP UP?

Looking over the past 10 years, we have seen the world of technology change every single year and it just gets better and better. We have seen a single massive change within mobile phones, from touchscreen to recognized thumb print to now facial recognition and all of this has only happened within the past 5 years. This major transformation within technology this has caused retailers and businesses to keep up with this movement and the question is, can they keep up? More and more people are using online shopping and apps to complete their daily shopping because of ease and convenience. Retailers, big or small are being forced to keep up with this movement otherwise they are at risk of killing the heart of the high street. So we are going to look at how technology is changing and accessing what retailers are doing and not doing to keep up with the demands of technology and their customers.

HOW HAS TECHNOLOGY CHANGED?

Over the years, technology has revolutionized our world and daily lives. Computers are increasing every single day, making them portable, faster and generally making our lives a lot more easier, and we all want an easy life. Within recent decades, technology has given us the world at our fingertips. These devices such as smart phones and smartwatches which are all fitted with voice control and voice recognition we can do things like grocery, clothes, furniture delivery and even send money at a click of a button, this is encouraging young and even older generations to use this in their everyday lives to get by.

The way that technology has changed is especially helping seniors as these devices are helping the older generation to feel safer and live more independently without worrying about independent stores or banks.
