which way to Tokyo -

A Handbook for the Lost and Returning Player

Author: Beecher

Good news! Issue 11 is here or will be very soon™, which means the Tokyo story is finished at last. But how do you get to Tokyo? What are the requirements? Did you take a break from the game while waiting for Tokyo and all this Agartha, certification, scenario talk makes no sense? Fear not, slayers.

You must complete the story mission through Transylvania. After defeating Mara and chasing Emma, return to your faction HQ for a briefing. Sonnac give you a pat on the back? Bong Cha tell you to take a vacation? Geary has you brushing up on your Japanese? Good.

These steps will advance the story to Issue 8, the Venetian Agenda.

-Go to Agartha.

-Walk toward the Station Master.

-You will get a phone call from your faction handler, instructing you to go to Venice, aka the Sunken Library, which can be found just below the Seoul portal on the main Agartha platform.

-Jump down to the lower branch.

-Enter the portal in the tree trunk. Welcome to Venice!

-Talk to Arturo Castigone. Enjoy the cut scene.

Now you have TWO options:

1. Complete a scenario and buy a certification for one Aureus of Initiation (aka oreos). (The hotel scenario is free for normal and elite modes.)

2. Purchase the Side Stories: Further Analysis DLC and complete the mission Immersion. Purchase forged certification for 1 million pax (Hey, forgery isn't cheap!).

Just get me to Tokyo already!

It is no longer necessary to purchase Issue 9 to gain access to the Kaidan zone. However, at this time there are no missions or content to complete without Issue 9, beyond the missions needed to actually get into Kaiden and get your Aegis controllers.

Return to Agartha.

Walk toward the Stationmaster.

You will get another phone call from your faction handler. Tokyo is open! Return to Venice.

Go to Arturo’s office.

Complete Venice Sinking mission (free mission).

Tokyo! Finally! Head out the Agartha portal.

On the same branch as the library, take the portal directly ahead. You can see a cherry tree.

A new branch, this one with a filth problem. Show it the simulacrum and enjoy the light show.

Tokyo! Finally!

Why am I stuck in the subway with Sara?

Complete Back to the Beginning (free mission).

Tokyo! For real this time.

As of this writing, the rest of Issue 9 main story missions are DLC. You cannot repeat Venice Sinking and Back to the Beginning without purchasing and completing the rest of the issue’s stories.

However, it is possible to purchase the Fall of Tokyo story pack, which contains all Tokyo DLC at a discount and includes an Orochi pilot outfit. Included:

Issue 9: The Black Signal

Sidestories: Love and Loathing

Sidestories: The Last Pagan

Issue 10: The Dream Palace

Issue 11: Reaping the Whirlwind

I hope this was helpful. Enjoy the sights! The Love Hotel! The Pachinko Parlor! Noodle House! Bath House!

Surviving in Tokyo is a totally different problem.
