Story and Mission

Save A Stray is a volunteer-based humane organization dedicated to helping the homeless animal population in Mobile County . Our mission is to enrich the lives of animals in our local shelters , decrease the euthanasia rates through spay-neuter assistance , community education , as well as helping place animals in permanent homes . Our adoptable animals are in foster homes until they find their permanent family .

How To Do Some Good :

Foster : We are always in need of dog and cat fosters . Fostering is a great experience to get to know a pet and share in their love . We enjoy going to schools and having students decorate bags or letters to send with our adopted pets . Adopt : We have local adoption events throughout the year and various fundraising opportunities . Cats are available for adoption all year long at PetSmart on Schillinger Rd . Donate : You can help by donating dog or cat food , cat litter , toys and bedding or financial contributions . Animals enrich our lives , and we have wonderful opportunities to help enrich theirs !
