Alvester Hardiman, Jr. was held on Saturday, May 25, 2013
at Hopewell Temple C.M.E. Church in Texarkana, Texas.
Pastor Charlie W. Coleman II served as the Officiant and
Reverend Levester Hardiman, Sr. served as Eulogist. Words
of Encouragement were given by Bishop Henry M.
Williamson, Sr., Presiding Prelate, Eighth Episcopal District.
Obituary
Reverend Alvester Hardiman, Jr. was born November 21, 1947 to the parentage of the late Rev.
Alvester Hardiman, Sr. and Mrs. Trudell Lott Hardiman. Rev. Hardiman received his education in
Texarkana, Texas. He attended Macedonia Elementary School and graduated from Macedonia
High School in Texarkana, Texas. He attended Texarkana Community College. Rev. Hardiman
was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Irene Williams.
Rev. Hardiman answered the call from God to preach the Gospel and became a member of the East
Texas Region Annual Conference where he served for 43 years. His pastoral charges were Mt. Zion
C.M.E. Church, Clarksville, TX; Heglar Chapel C.M.E. Church, DeKalb, TX; Johnson Chapel
C.M.E. Church, Paris, TX; New Zion C.M.E. Church, Kildare, TX: Gum Springs C.M.E. Church,
Douglassvivlle, TX; St. Beulah C.M.E. Church, Pittsburg, TX; Miles Memorial C.M.E. Church,
Marshall, TX; Hopewell Temple C.M.E. Church, Texarkana, TX; and Martin Chapel C.M.E.
Church, Redwater, TX.
Rev. Hardiman was employed by the Lone Star Ammunition (D&Z), and Red River Army Depot,
in Hooks, TX.
He served as the East Texas Region Annual Conference Secretary for 30 years. He served as
President of the Greenville-Texarkana Minister Alliance, as a delegate to numerous General
Conferences, as Secretary for Greater Texarkana Fellowship, and as a member of Redwater
Community Fellowship.
Rev. Hardiman was preceded in death by his father and numerous aunts, uncles, and other family
members. Precious loved ones left to cherish his memory are wife Mrs. Irene Williams Hardiman;
mother, Mrs. Trudell Hardiman; daughters Allison Hardiman (Ella & Alonzo), Mrs. Pamela (Steve)
Steward, Mrs. Tracie (Joe) Williams, and Madiaon Hardiman & Kendall Spriggins; sons, Mr. Aaron
(Candice) McKinney, Devon Hardiman, Jewelian Hardiman, Marqualon Roach, Marquez Roach,
Reginald Caldwell, Jr., Jaden Caldwell, and nine grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Levester (Brenda)
Hardiman, Sr., and Mr. George (Norma) Hardiman; sister, Mrs. Lee Pearl (Ellie) King; aunts, Mrs.
Sophoria Page, Mrs. Mary A. Page, and Mrs. Berna Dean Brown; brothers-in-law, Mr. Edward
Williams, Mr. Alvin (Wanda) Williams, Mr. Kenneth (Francine) Williams, Mr. Bobby (Linda
Smith); daughter in ministry, Rev. Q. T. Williams; special cousins and caregiver, Mrs. Verna
Sanders, Ms. Madison Hardiman, Master DeVon Hardiman, Mr. John Brown (his barber), Tommy
Conkelton, Glendale Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends
