A Celebration of Life for Reverend Ronnie Sneed was held on June 5, 2013
at Metropolitan CME Church, Houston, Texas. Reverend Dr. J. J.
Jackson, III, Presiding Elder, Houston District served as the Officiant and
Reverend Trever Barnett, Presiding Elder, Beaumont-Nacogdoches District
served as Eulogist. Words of Comfort were given by Bishop Ronald M.
Cunningham, Presiding Prelate, 11th Episcopal District and Bishop Henry
M. Williamson, Sr., Presiding Prelate, Eighth Episcopal District.

Reverend Ronnie Sneed was born on August 24, 1953 to Embry and Webber Sneed in Lubbock, Texas. He
attended public school in Lubbock and graduated with honors from Dunbar High School in 1971. Ronnie
came to Christ at an early age and united with Carter Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church where he
was baptized by the late Rev. Monroe Woods. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering with
honors from Texas Tech University. He relocated to Houston in 1987.
He was also an honors graduate with a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Theology from Slidell Baptist
Seminary. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Business
Administration degree in accounting where he was served as President of Beta Alpha Psi accounting
fraternity and as an active member of Beta Gamma Sigma honors fraternity. He was a member of Phi Beta
Sigma fraternity. He was also a member of the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association in
which he served as Financial Secretary of the Metropolitan Houston Chapter. He was also a member of the
Maroon and Gray Chapter and a member of the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association.
