since high school and, having grown up in Houston,
was very familiar with Halliburton. After completing an internship with the company, she entered
Halliburton’s rotational program to work on five
six-month rotations in various engineering roles.
She loves overseeing projects end to end while also
gaining exposure to multiple facets of Halliburton’s
business.

What drew you to Halliburton in particular?
I always knew I wanted to be in an industry with
longevity. The energy sector has been around for a
long time and isn’t going anywhere, and
Halliburton has strong roots in the community. The
rotational program really intrigued me. I wasn’t sure
exactly what I wanted to do with my engineering
degree, and I knew that Halliburton’s rotational
program would offer many different perspectives to
help me find the best fit.
What were some of your first impressions?
I interviewed for my internship right in the middle
of midterms and homecoming week, but despite

being extremely busy, my interview was such a
relaxing experience. My interviewer was great at
answering my questions and really increased my
interest in the company. This warm, relaxed environment is typical of Halliburton. Despite it being
such a large company, we have an open-door policy,
so you can walk right in to someone’s office rather
than scheduling a formal meeting. I was impressed
by the company’s openness.
talking when you walk around. I think there’s a
really good balance of hard work and fun.
Can you describe your current role?
The rotational program offers a great overview of
Halliburton – each rotation brings a new project in
a different business line. My current role is project
management in the drill bit sector. I make sure
everything is running smoothly and, if not, I see
what we can do to make sure the project is successful. I love overseeing a project end to end. It’s really
rewarding to see a product roll off the line and into
the hands of a customer, knowing you had a hand
in its success.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
What is the biggest challenge yo u face?
I think my favorite part of my job is also the biggest
challenge – it’s dealing with the unknown. In my
current role, things come up suddenly that affect
the project and the timeline, and I need to think
quickly, involve the right people, and come up with
a solution. I would not like to be in a mundane role
where I know exactly what’s going to happen next.
Things happen really fast here, and I think I love
that because it’s such a challenge.
What is Halliburton’s work culture like?
If I had to describe the culture in one word, it
would be “driven.” Halliburton’s team is diverse, and
everyone has the success of the company at heart.
It’s a very dynamic place. Many companies are very
uptight and are all about work, work, work – but
that’s not the case here. Everyone is really focused
on the business, but you always hear laughter and
What kind of person would succeed at
Halliburton?
I think a data-driven person who is good at multitasking would do really well here. It’s also important
to be customer-focused. Halliburton is a service
company, so when a customer calls, we need to be
ready to provide whatever service they need.
“Halliburton is a dynamic place, and everyone
has success at heart.”
