The Rothschild Prayer Book
Also known as the Rothschild Hours, this is an important Flemish
illuminated manuscript book of hours, commissioned around 1505
by a member of the imperial court of the Netherlands. It entered
the Rothschild family collection in the 19th century. It has 254
folios, with a page size of 228 x 160 mm with contributions from
numerous artists and masters of illumination. It was purchased
by a private collector in 1999, for $13.4 million.
