The Mind Creative OCTOBER 2014 | Seite 47

The Mind Creative example of a great book that explains this further is “Thinking Hats and Coloured Turbans” by Kirpal Singh 8. Teach students that creativity (being imaginative, selfmotivated, communicative and resilient) is crucial to their future in the job market. Creative skills are not only valued in the workplace, but also allows the future generation to create their own jobs. The education system must encourage creative thinking and not suppress it based on old teaching methods. As our schools fall short in this area, we, as parents and mentors, must encourage our children to think outside the box, seek new answers and be curious. This is the only way to harness the full potential of our next generation. 47
