The Medieval Magazine No.94 / Vol 3 No 11 | Page 6

In this issue, we got our hands on a copy of Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology, and have an extensive review of his adaptation. In other bookish news, and in keeping with our London theme, we also reviewed Stephen Porter’s Everyday Life in Tudor London; taking us on a trip back to a tumultuous and fascinating time in this city’s history. Lastly, if you’re in London for the next two weeks, check out our Londinium section for all the latest medieval and early modern events, exhibits, and talks in the city.

London’s been hit with a heatwave this week, and it’s the official start of summer, so Cait’s article on medieval swimming will help us all cool down. For all you Jane Austen lovers, Peter shares some snippets of her writing on medieval English Kings.

Back on the other side of the pond, Dani Trynoski visited the revived Koroneburg Renaissance Festival in southern California and got to know the "villagers" of this German-themed event. If you’re in California, Dani invites you to pop into the Getty and enjoy their latest exhibit, Illuminating Women in the Medieval World, on from June 20 –September 17, 2017.
