Charles Verboom is the manager of collaboration services in the information technology division at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. He completed his BSEE at the University of Akron, and his MSIE at Arizona State University. Prior to joining LBL, he held positions with Motorola, Mare Island Naval Shipyard, and the Naval Sea Logistics Center in Information Technology. He also served as a member of the adjunct faculty at Solano Community College for 15 years.
Lene Whitley-Putz has been teaching writing and communication for over 20 years. She recently completed the @ONE certification for online teaching, and has been working on developing hybrid communication courses. She currently serves as the distance education coordinator for Canada College, where she provides professional development workshops for faculty designing and teaching online courses. Lene received a B.A. in English and an M.A. in composition studies from Chico State, and a Ph.D. in rhetoric and communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Eric Wilson has served as a volunteer trainer and last year helped with the successful summer conference at Orange Coast College. He has been in education for over 15 years. At Orange Coast College, he is information systems trainer and associate faculty, and helps run the campus computer center. Additionally, Eric is a part-time faculty for Kaplan University. He specializes in online learning and is a certified Blackboard trainer. He holds an M.S. Ed and is currently working on his MBA.
LeBaron Woodyard is currently the dean of Academic Affairs for the Chancellor’s Office, California Community Colleges. He is responsible for distance education, library and learning resources programs, faculty and staff minimum qualifications, flexible calendar, fund for instructional improvement (FII), and open educational resources. He has 40 years of experience in higher education, and has served in the California State University system, the Claremont Colleges, and the California Community Colleges system. He has been in the California Community Colleges system for 30 years, nine of which have been at Laney College in Oakland, with the other 21 in the system’s chancellor’s office.
