Vivie Sinou leads, manages, and supports the Etudes community and organization. She is responsible for the strategic planning and vision of Etudes, as well as product management and development of the Etudes (Next Generation) software. Vivie formed the Etudes Consortium in 2002 and extended course management system (CMS) services and support to distance learning programs to over 25 community colleges in California. In 2004 Vivie led the adoption of the Sakai platform for Etudes, and was a founding member of the Sakai Board, representing community college needs.

Anna Stirling has taught at Mt. San Jacinto College for over five years in computer applications (primarily Microsoft Office) and other introductory CIS courses for the computer information systems department, both online and traditionally. In addition to teaching for MSJC, she is an avid faculty trainer in course design and management and also coordinates a three-day professional development event each semester.

Joan Thomas-Spiegel has worked in the fields of mental health, substance abuse, education and research. Her primary interest is improving the learning process. In addition to teaching introductory psychology, lifespan, biological, social, abnormal, motivation, ethics, addictions, and research classes online, she has many years of experience as a researcher.

Tera Ulbert, once a struggling, disabled, online student, was able to receive her associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees by the age of 20. An experienced online student, instructor, and online curriculum developer, she has the insider tools that will help lead any online enthusiast to success.
