Andrea Henne is Dean, Online & Distributed Learning at the San Diego Community College District, which currently enrolls over 12,000 students each semester in online courses (http://www.sdccd.edu/online). Dr. Henne has extensive experience in creating online learning environments that meet best practices in technology-based teaching, faculty development, student learning outcomes, and quality standards. She has been an instructor of Computer Business Technology at L.A. City College & San Diego Mesa College and an online instructor in Instructional Technology at National U and in Critical Thinking & Problem Solving at DeVry Online.

Dr. Douglas E. Hersh is dean of Educational Programs at Santa Barbara City College. He triple majored at Yale University, worked as a roustabout and roughneck on an offshore oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, and earned both a master’s and doctoral degree in education. Since then, Doug has developed several innovations for higher education, including the open source human presence learning environment that has been profiled in USA Today, Inside Higher Ed, TechEDge. He has won several state and national awards.

Jacky Hood is a program manager, service/support executive, educator, author and engineer. She is currently contracting with a marketing automation company and leads the Open Doors Group, which can be found at http://opendoorsgroup.org. She is also codirector of College Open Textbooks at http://collegeopentextbooks.org.
