The Yamani Answers My
Question On Women’s Rights

In the name of Allah the most
beneficent, the most merciful
I have sent Imam Ahmad AlHassan a few questions related
to women's rights in Islam
which have been an issue for
many Muslim women (and
men) for a very long time.
These topics have been fiercely
debated by scholars and
activists for years and answers
have either forced women to
give up on their understanding
on what is just and merciful in
today's society for women or
give up on an trying to make
sense of their religion and
finding an Islam that is
inherently just for women in
every place and time. In hope to
elevate our understanding of
Islam in this time and age and
empower women to "own their
Islam" and not let it fall
hostage to regressive ignorant
mind-sets. I'm sharing with you
the answers here. I hope they
inspire us to take examples in
great women like Sayyida
Fatima Zahra (pbuh), the
daughter of the Prophet
(pbuhahf) and Sayyida Zainab
(pbuh) the great granddaughter
