Women have been used as
scapegoats for many things
men have done, the biggest
thing that is abused is the
femininity and sacred
seductive powers of women
which were given as a
responsibility by the Creator,
Most High, to be used in a holy
and halal union. The angels
that were being described in
“The Book Of Enoch” saw the
divine feminine and left heaven
to abuse it for they
transgressed the limits set by
God and in turn suffered
greatly as a result of that.
The Islamic community is often
attacked by outsiders in
regards to their women, as the
veil is seen as something which
is worn to hide beauty and
reduce promiscuity, even
though this shows how
powerful the woman is in itself
– however, I believe it is an
exaggerated explanation that
places a ridiculous amount of
negative emphasis on the
female presence overall.
I’ve personally experienced
practicing Muslim brothers,
promoting a particular school
of thought look at the floor the
whole time while they were
talking to me. As a woman, this
made me feel extremely
uncomfortable and as if I
wasn’t anything beyond being
a female – that that was my
only identity and even that was
seen as something so negative
that the people talking to me
didn’t even want to have a face
to face conversation, instead
they looked at the floor the
entire time. Do the Muslim
brothers know how
uncomfortable that is? I believe
some of them genuinely feel it
is respectable, but on the
receiving side of it, it’s very
reductive.
