regarding his successor, were not
adhered to. The ill-conceived
meeting at Saqifa, whilst she and
her family mourned the loss of
her beloved father, appointed
someone in contradiction to the
divine instructions given by the
Prophet (s.a.w) at Ghadeer
Khum. She also had to contend
with the confiscation of her right
to Fadak (The land she had
rightfully inherited from her
father).
Her pregnancy with her son,
Mohsin ended prematurely as a
result of the final assault on
Sayyida Fatima Zahra (a.s). Her
response in the court of the
Khalifa to being deprived of her
rightful inheritance is well
accepted as a masterpiece in
eloquence and knowledge. She
expressed her troubles in a
couplet, "O my father! After
your death I was subjected to
such tortures that if they had
been inflicted on the day it would
have turned to night".
Verily the successive calamities
and severe hardships which
befell Sayyida Fatima Zahra (a.s),
even before reaching the prime
of her life, soon after Prophet
Muhammad left the world where
once again the people fell into
total darkness when the
oppressors claimed for
themselves sovereignty through
the cowardice and treasonous
acts of the people and usurped
the rights of Imam Ali (a.s) and
the inheritance of Sayyida Fatima
Zahra (a.s).
Then finally came the fateful day

entered the house of Imam Ali
