himself, thus conquering the “I”, and sacrificed his most beloved family and companions, hence sacrificing the “we” to gain the Pleasure and Satisfaction of the AllMerciful, Glorious, Loving and Rewarding Allah (swt), and hence he gave all that he had for the sake of the “He”. Indeed in the world of today, if one could attain a level near the level of Imam Hussain (a.s), one of pure and sincere submission, faith, piety and certitude, he would certainly be very near to Allah (swt), because it takes immense intensity of a pure intention to go as near to Allah (swt) as Imam Hussain (a.s) did. 2) Love for the Sake of Allah (swt) Imam Husayn Ibn e Ali (a.s) was a soft and warm hearted man. He was kind, merciful, compassionate and friendly. It would be utter foolishness to believe that he was a being who possessed less emotion than us and it would be sensible to understand that the level of emotion that Imam Hussain (a.s) had was much more than ours. Now hear the words of Imam Ali (a.s) about Love to understand the heart and the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (a.s) better: Once Imam Ali (a.s) was sitting in his house with his two young children, Abbas a.s, his son, and Sayyida Zainab a.s, his daughter. Imam Ali (a.s) said to Abbas a.s, "Say Wahid (one)". Imam Ali (a.s) then asked him to "say Isnain (Two)". Abbas a.s replied, "I feel ashamed to utter 'two' from the same tongue which just said 'one' ". Imam Ali (a.s) hugged his son, pleased at such a charming expression. The reply from Abbas a.s indicated how deeply devoted he was in his belief in Tawheed, that is, Oneness of Allah (swt). A true believer never likes to even imagine any association with Allah (swt). Sayyida Zainab a.s then asked, "Dear, father, do you love me?" Imam Ali (a.s) said, "Yes, of course, my children are like a part of my heart". On hearing this, she said, "You also love Allah (swt). How can two loves be in one heart of a true believer, the love of Allah (swt) and that of children?" Imam Ali (a.s) smiled and replied, "Love Allah (swt) and for the sake of His Love, you love His creatures; children and fellow beings too. I love you for the sake of Allah (swt)." Imam Hussain (a.s) also loved his family and companions immensely for the Sake of Allah (swt), and this is proved to us by the fact that he sacrificed them to Allah (swt). His love is so pure that he sacrificed all that he had to the One for Whose sake he loved them. As Ansar Allah we know that our sacrifices that we are to give are many InshaAllah, if we want to be true Ansar Allah, therefore we know that if we are to love for the Sake of Allah (swt), then sacrifice that which we love for His Sake to Him, our love must be truly for His Sake for the sacrifice to be pure, just as the love of Imam Hussain (a.s) was truly for the Sake of Allah (swt), which is why his sacrifice was pure. 3) Kindness and Compassion in times of difficulty Bismillah Hir Rahman Irr Rahim [12:87] “O my sons! Go and inquire respecting Yusuf and his brother, and despair not of Allah's mercy; surely none despairs of Allah's mercy except the unbelieving people.” Yet so many despair of the Mercy of Allah swt in times of crisis and difficulty. In Karbala we see the true heroes fulfilling their roles with such determination and steadiness Alhamdulillah that it is an example for all those today, because even in those times of hardness, intense hunger, intense thirst, and being surrounded by a huge army without access to water, they stayed patient, resolute and on the right track. Today we find that people break so quickly Astaghfirullah, including the author that in times of crisis people snap at each other and fall away from the virtues of patience, resolve, forbearance and dignity. Karbala is a strong exhibition of staying on the right track even in hard times, and keeping the opinions and
