having to use hands and feet, almost
Spiderman style.
When I reached the car park, only the
first two Ansar who had fallen back
right at the beginning of the walk,
remained there, whilst the other two,
due to extreme fatigue had headed
home.
There were many lessons learnt that
day, not least of which was how much
commitment my companions had
shown; this made me proud to be with
them all and also showed that they were
very resilient characters.
It also showed that no matter how much
preparation you do for such events, you
can never quite do enough.
The descent from Ingleborough and
subsequent 5 mile trek back to the Peny-ghent car park was done in almost
complete darkness with me stumbling
about in the dark with no torch but my
mobile phone homescreen to light the
way...and with a bit of help from Allah
swt, I managed to finally make it back to
the car park at around 1am.
It also showed that people shine
and bloom at different times
and we must be patient with
each other as Ansar Allah.
It also showed that we are much more
capable of what we assume about
ourselves. In total the Ansar Allah who
completed the journey traversed around
18 miles over hills, roads and
countryside.
