STRAIGHTPATHMONTHLY December 2011 The Martyrdom of Hussain a.s By Zolfigarr When Hussain a.s woke up in the dawn of Ashura, he prayed with his companions the morning prayer.  He gave a sermon to them while he Exalted Allah and Praised Him.  He said:  "Allah has called for you to be killed and myself in this day, so on you is to become patient and fight."  So he gathered them for war, and so they were 77.  From amongst them were horsemen and soldiers on foot. And so Muslim son of Awsaja planned to shoot an arrow towards him, so AlHussein prevented him and said: I hate to start by fighting them. When AlHussein observed the great amount of them (his enemies), as if they were a stream, he lifted his hands up supplicating (in dua), and said "O Allah you are my confidence against every tragedy and my need against every severe occurrence.
