Question: "If a Kafir or a Nasibi
insults Allah, or any of His Hujjah
(a.s) or beloved people (a.s), is it
allowed for Muslims to act violently
against that Kafir/Nasibi?"

Answer: Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s),
addressing one of his companions,
said: 'O Hafs, whoever has been
patient has indeed been patient only
a little, and whoever has been
afflicted with anxieties has been
anxious and worried only a little.
You must have patience in all
affairs, for Allah, Mighty and
Exalted, sent Muhammad (s.a.w)
and commanded him to be patient
and kind, saying: "And bear
patiently what they say, and
forsake them graciously. And leave
Me [alone to deal with] those in
possession of the bounties in
life." (73:10 & 11) and "Repel [evil]
with what is best, then he between
whom and yourself there was
enmity would be as if he were a
warm friend. And none will be made
to receive goodness except those
who exercise patience, and none are
made to receive it but those who
have mighty good fortune." (41:34 &
35). So he [the Prophet] exercised
patience, such that they dared to
inflict terrible things on him, and
reproached him, and his heart
became full of anguish and distress,
so Allah revealed to him: "And
surely we know how your heart is
distressed by what they say. But
celebrate the praises of your Lord,
and be of those who prostrate
themselves in adoration." (15:97 &
98). Then they belied him and
accused him, which caused him
grief, so Allah revealed: "We know
indeed the grief that their words
cause you: it is not you they reject,
it is the signs of Allah that the
wicked deny. Rejected were the
messengers before you, but with
patience and perseverance they bore
their rejection and persecution until
Our aid reached them." (6:33 & 34).
So the Prophet (s.a.w) forced
himself to persevere and be patient,
and they continued to transgress,
now taking Allah's name, Blessed
and Most High, and belying Him, at
which the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "I
have been patient with respect to
myself, my family and my
objectives, but I will have no
patience when My Lord is
mentioned thus." So Allah, Mighty
and Exalted, revealed: "Bear
Patiently whatever they
say" (20:130), so he bore patiently
with respect to all matters, after
which he was given the glad tidings
about his progeny and pure
A'immah (a.s), who themselves were
attributed with patience, when
Allah, Glorified be His Praise, said:
"And We appointed from among
them Imams, giving guidance under
Our Command, when they endured
patiently and had sure faith in Our
signs." (32:24). Thereupon the
Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Patience is to
Faith as the head is to the body",
and he thanked Allah for this
bounty, so Allah revealed: "The fair
promise of your Lord was fulfilled
for the children of Israel, because
they had patience and perseverance,
and we leveled to the ground the
great works and fine building that
Pharaoh and his people had erected
with such pride." (7:137). So Allah
caused them to be killed by the
Prophet (a.s) and his close
companions hands, and He ordained
this to be a reward for his patience
along with what He has stored for
him in the Hereafter. So whoever
has patience and perseveres does
not leave this world until and after
Allah has given him the pleasure of
seeing his enemies come to their
deserved end, along with whatever
lies in store for him in the
Hereafter." [al-Kafi, V. 2, P. 71, No.3]
And Ahmad al-Hassan (a.s) teaches
us in 'The Jihad is the door of
Paradise' that we must not fight
until and unless we have exhausted
every possible angle of the good
word, and we must only fight under
the banner of the Imam (a.s) for,
"There is no Jihad, except, under the
Banner of the Guardian of Allah on
His Earth."And Ahmad al-Hassan
(a.s) further states that the reason
the Prophets (a.s) and the small
group of believers that accompanied
them were given victory over the
large group of disbelievers is due to
the fact that they strove [firstly and
before anything] to uphold and
spread the Word of Allah (swt). And
they did this, in the best of manners,
with beautiful preaching and
wisdom and patience and argued
with that which is better, thus, Allah
(swt) granted them victory over ѡ
