Argentario ? “ Un diamante ”. Porto Ercole ? “ La sua luce più bella , che negli anni Sessanta e Settanta era al centro di un turismo internazionale irresistibilmente attratto dalla bellezza che promana dal mare e dal territorio che lo costeggia ”. The Argentario ? “ A diamond .” Porto Ercole ? “ Its most beautiful light , at the centre of international tourism in the 1960s and 1970s , irresistibly drawn here by the beauty that emanates from the sea and the coast .” This is how Marquess Alessandro Emanuele Corsini , one of the most representative figures of the Argentario , describes the past and present of a place seeking to return to its former glory to Emma Villas The Magazine , on the occasion of the opening of the second Emma Villas Store in Orbetello . Thanks to the new impetus coming from local administrations , the initiative of a small number of Italian and international private investors and the opportunities provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan ( PNRR ). ” arrivò qui con i genitori che aveva otto mesi , ci è rimasto ininterrottamente fino all ’ adolescenza , e ci torna ogni volta che la sua vita , divisa fra Stati Uniti e Italia , glielo permette . E perché lui insieme alla sua famiglia , composta da otto figli in giro per il mondo , ama questo luogo incondizionatamente . “ La geografia di questi luoghi – spiega – non teme confronti con quella delle più rinomate località turistiche internazionali . Il mare che si può vivere qui è fatto di bagni in acque limpidissime , di soste in calette incontaminate , di scorci fantastici , di esperienze gastronomiche di assoluto livello ”. Ai tanti amici americani che , rimasti incantati dalla bellezza del luogo , dopo essere venuti a trovarlo , gli chiedono di trovargli in affitto “ una villa con piscina ”, il marchese risponde con un sorriso : “ Comprendo le vostre abitudini ma , credetemi , prendete in affitto una barca con un marinaio e andate per mare …”. Poi , se non bastasse , c ’ è l ’ entroterra : “ Siamo a un ’ ora e mezzo da Fiumicino , siamo in Toscana e , subito dopo Orbetello , comincia la Maremma con Magliano , Manciano ,

24 in New York . But it is as if he were , because he came here with his parents when he was eight months old and remained here until he was a teenager . These days he comes back whenever his life – divided between the US and Italy – allows , because he and his family , made up of eight children scattered around the world , love this place unconditionally . “ The geography of these places ,” he explains , “ does not fear comparison with that of the most renowned international tourist resorts . The sea here offers crystalclear water for swimming , pristine coves , fantastic views and the finest gastronomic experiences .” In response to his many American friends who , after coming to visit and being enchanted by the beauty of the place , ask him to rent them “ a villa with a pool ,” the marquess smiles and says : “ I understand what you ’ re used to , but trust me , just rent a boat with a sailor and go to sea …” Then , if that were not enough , we also have the hinterland : “ We ’ re an hour and a half from Fiumicino , we ’ re in Tuscany and , immediately after Orbetello , the Maremma begins with Magliano , Manciano , Capalbio
