Did you know that since 2011, Australian businesses all over Australia now operate under a single, national consumer law: the Australian Consumer Law( ACL). The ACL has replaced different national, state and territory laws that set out consumer rights and business obligations with a single, national set of rules.
Having good relations with customers is vital for most small businesses anyway, but there are also rules about your rights as a business owner or operator and your customers’ rights when you are selling them goods or services. The General Rule is that a Business must not engage in conduct that may mislead or deceive their customers. We will be publishing more about these laws that affect our members in coming editions.
As you can see, The Trade News magazine has undergone a transformation. We do hope you like this new-look issue and love to hear your thoughts on what is important to you.
