Command Bunker Colonel DE Castries The bunker from which Colonel de Castries was captured on May 7 1954 has been recreated in its actual location. There ' s not a whole lot to see here but if you ' ve studied the history, the bunker and nearby Muong Thanh bridge were vital strategic positions. Steep stairs make the navigation for some a little difficult but if you’ re not in a hurry it’ s not too arduous. Again entry was 15,000vnd.

General Giap Bunker This is where the car became a necessity as it took us an hour to get there through the awesome mountain scenery, unfortunately it was a further 2km walk from our drop off point down a hilly track so we opted for a delicious meal at the restaurant opposite the tracks entrance and there are western toilets.
