LIBRARY
The Johnson Library is located at the heart of the school campus and provides students with an area of quiet study and reading . The Lower Library is dedicated to the younger students and contains fiction and non-fiction stock suited to Years 7 , 8 and 9 , as well as a bank of computers . The facilities are popular with these year groups for personal reading and homework . Years 7 and 8 English classes have fortnightly lessons in the Lower Library dedicated to reading books of their own choice or titles suggested by their teacher . Author events are organised several times a year , while Book Club is open to all on Tuesdays at breaktime .
The larger ground floor and mezzanine areas are open to all students and offer the wider book collection , 70 individual desks , a magazine and newspaper area , the audio-visual collection as well as 20 student computers . The Library houses a stock of 20,000 items and sources additional titles on request . Staff are always on hand to offer help to students and to encourage a passion for reading and learning .
