Drama Anyone can sign up for Drama Club sessions , which run twice a week for all levels of ability . Those who participate in Drama Club are welcome to audition for the Lower School play which takes place in the Summer term and is only for Years 7 and 8 : a part is guaranteed for all who want one . Students are welcome to participate in Drama Club even if they do not want to be in the play . There is also plenty of opportunity to be involved backstage .
Music Outside of classroom music there are manifold opportunities for students to get involved in music-making . All students come together to form the Lower School Singers and sing in the Lower School concert late in the Michaelmas term ; students in Year 8 may also join the Junior Chamber Choir . For instrumental music , Sevenoaks is proud to boast a Foundation Orchestra comprised of students in Years 7 , 8 and 9 . In addition , a wide variety of chamber music is available for students who come to the school with a good deal of prior musical experience , and students in the Lower School are encouraged to form bands .
Sport Outside of timetabled PE lessons and Games afternoons , there are numerous opportunities for students to take part in sport at school . Those in teams or who wish to try for teams in the main sports have weekly training sessions ; there are also clubs for badminton , basketball , climbing , cricket , cross country , dance , fencing , selfdefence , shooting , squash , swimming , tennis , and sometimes younger students can join the older ones for sailing by arrangement .
