PE AND SPORT
The aim of the Sports department is to promote a positive , lifelong approach through the provision of a wide choice of activities and to develop excellence in those who choose to pursue an activity to a higher level . This is reflected in the department ’ s philosophy : Opportunity and Performance .
The PE and Sport curriculum in the Lower School ensures that students experience a wide variety of sports and activities to encourage being physically active . Our curriculum includes character development , movement competency , and a purposeful drive on improving mental and social wellbeing whereby fun and enjoyment is at the heart of the curriculum . We place a significant emphasis on the continued development of socially responsible behaviour and good sportsmanship .
Alongside extensive opportunities , Sevenoaks has exceptional facilities and coaching available for aspiring athletes . We have a strong tradition of sporting achievement and excellence , with annual success at county , regional and national level . Over 80 students each year represent county level and above in a range of sports , including some 20 international sportsmen and women . Sevenoaks School proudly fields around 200 sports teams and plays over 1100 fixtures per year , which highlights the level of commitment to coaching and opportunities available to all students attending the school .

We value and promote the impact sport can have in developing positive characteristics and strive to create an environment where all students are independent , resilient and humble .
