THE CO-CURRICULUM
The co-curriculum plays an integral part in Years 7 and 8 . We want students to give it as much time outside of the classroom as they do to their studies , whether that is joining a club , participating in an activity or getting involved in drama , sport or music . The aim of our co-curricular programme is to provide students with the chance to try as many different activities as possible , and to find out what their passions are .
Co-curricular activities run by our Sport , Music and Drama departments emphasise breadth and depth , and provide opportunities for every student , regardless of ability , to achieve their potential .
The range of clubs and societies offered to the Lower School is impressive , with many activities led by our passionate and inspiring Middle School and Sixth Form students . Clubs take place during lunch and after school . Each student ’ s tutor will help them choose at least three clubs to take part in , and we hope they will enjoy trying something new , learning new hobbies , and meeting new friends .
The trips programme in the Lower School starts with an overnight trip in the first term of Year 7 . This is a Design Technology trip to Silverstone Motorsports Museum . This enables Year 7 students to bond with their new year group , as well as the opportunity to discover what it is like to be away from home overnight . At the end of June , we offer Year 7 a choice of a three-night trip to France or Spain , and Year 8 can opt to go on a Classics trip to Greece . There may also be other sports tours taking place to the UK or Europe .
“ One thing I love about Sevenoaks is the fact that you can do or try almost anything that you are interested in , and the things that you can ’ t currently try you can recommend to the school . ”
Jamie , Year 8
