Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers,

At last! Here is the Literary Magazine’s 41st annual magazine. We’re very thankful for the numerous contributions from the student body. Each one represents someone’s voice, someone who wants to speak about their lives free of judgment, and what better way than through the arts? We, as humans, have always used writing and arts to express ourselves, and the desire for expression will not stop now. This never-ending hunger manifests itself in our art and writing and is, at its core, the reason the magazine is still alive despite the hurdles each Looking Glass team faces. It is the dream of this club to be the platform for the voices of the students at Teaneck High School.

The Literary Magazine team has faced its own challenges this year. Mr. Sean Holland set up the foundation for our small club to stay afloat until Mr. Richard Rodda took up the mantle of the club and kept the club’s torch alight for us. For this, we thank Mr. Holland and Mr. Rodda for their involvement in the Looking Glass and for being the pillars that held this club upright. Thank you to my fellow team members for the meetings where we’d talk about shows, movies, and books we read and for sharing in the passion of writing. And lastly, thank you to everyone who submitted writing and art for the Looking Glass magazine! Without your contributions, the magazine would not have been published this year. This magazine is dedicated to you.

On the Literary Magazine’s behalf, it is my pleasure to share with you the fruits of our labor: the 41st edition of the Looking Glass, Teaneck High School’s Literary Magazine. I hope that as you read the pages of writing and admire the beautiful pieces of art, you feel the spark of passion for creating, like the artist and writers in this edition. Maybe you will feel inspired to submit your piece to the Literary Magazine team or join us! Enjoy :)
