The Looking Glass

Staff

Dear Readers,

For 37 years, The Looking Glass has strived to unify art and writing. Fueled by our students' hunger to display their talents, this magazine represents the diverse, emerging voices of Teaneck High School, and each year we've worked diligently to enhance their platform. Four years ago we introduced a new digital format that created the opportunity to add spoken performances to our legacy of art and writing. This year, we’ve pushed this element further with the incorporation of a new Beats section, an artistic medium that had previously gone unheard.

Continuing our tradition of pairing writing with art, this year's designers worked diligently to curate an experience, and each page tells a different story from the last. However, while in previous years submission topics have leaned in the direction of Love, it is clear that this year students are emotional charged about the current state of the nation and our topics reflect it: Contemplation, Struggle, and Protest. We hope that our students' collaboration will allow readers to have a personalized experience of reading unique writing and visualizing beautiful art.

It is my pleasure to present to you the 37th Edition of The Looking Glass, the literary magazine of Teaneck High School. As Editor-in-Chief, I have had the privilege to read and look through each piece of art and writing, all of which came from the poets, artists, and writers of the student body. This edition displays the expertise of the students of Teaneck High School, so without further ado please enjoy!
