S H OW R E V IE W 4 • FROMTHEEDITOR Months of hard graft and careful planning finally paid off at Lockex 2016, the debut locksmith exhibition organised by the publisher behind The Locksmith Journal, which is why this issue is a little later than usual so that we could include a comprehensive review from the show’s visitors and exhibitors. The bumper 46page Lockex 2016 review begins on page 32. »»OUR ROVING REPORTER, HELEN Williams, was there for the duration of the three-day event in September from 16th to 18th at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry. Helen said: “The overall feedback was that the show was informative, interesting and brilliantly laid-out, helping locksmiths get to grips with some of the latest products on the market.” For some exhibitors, Lockex was their first ever trade show while others used it to launch new products, target new business and network with customers. There was loads on offer for visitors too. One lucky locksmith hit the jackpot when he scooped £1,000 in the promotion run by Brisant, the cylinder and security trade specialist. Doncaster locksmith, Andrew James of Andrew James Locksmiths, picked the winning key to open the box full of dosh on Brisant’s stand. The show played host to over 80 exhibitors, some international. Total visitor numbers stood at 1,723 with Saturday the busiest day when 751 visitors came through the doors. There was brisk activity in the Autolocksmith area and, after a busy day on Saturday, exhibitors enjoyed a chance to relax at a party with a live band. Over the three days of the show there were more than 68 free workshops and seminars exploring the cutting edge of
