SAFES & SAFE LOCKS
An update on the new

LA GARD 700 SERIES

» SAFELOCK SYSTEMS LTD . is a trade distributor of locks for safes , stocking a range of products from leading manufacturers such as LA GARD , dormakaba , and Tecnosicurezza . Directors Jasmine Hunt-Brown and Tony Brown give us a bit more information about the new range of safe locks .
Latest news You may have seen one or two articles about the new LA GARD 700 series appearing in The Locksmith Journal , but we have another round of interesting news regarding the range from dormakaba that we wanted to share . But first , a little overview …
Legacy LA GARD The current range of LA GARD safe locks such as LG Basic , ComboGard Pro 39e , AuditGard 66e and Supra have now been discontinued . We have some remaining Supra stock and will continue to stock some keypads for spares , but the time is now right to switch over to 700 Series :
LG Basic 701
39e , 66e , Supra 702
TL11 704
702 Display 702 Display is overwhelmingly the most popular model . It offers one Master , one Manager , 28 Users , time delay , 500 event audit and full keypad control to enable dual mode , alarm signals *, user profiling , backlight , silence keypad beeps , on-screen audit and much more .
* requires peripheral alarm interface kit sold separately .
All of these features are either equivalent to ; or greater than ; the legacy 39e , 66e or Supra models , and most advantageously , the 702 Display is offered at a cheaper price than the legacy 66e or Supra .
Firmware update November 2022 After a year of global feedback , and to continuously improve the product , dormakaba have released a firmware update which significantly improves the user experience . All new locks sold by Safelock Systems Ltd . will be supplied with updated firmware . Several points that have been raised by our customers have been address with the firmware update :
Forced code changes Previously , when a new code was added to the lock , the code holder was forced to change the code before it could be used to open the lock . This feature is now optional , and the default setting is that it is switched off . The Master code can turn on forced code changes if required :
• Non-display keypads : # 17
• Display keypads : Command menu > System > Combination > Force change
Time delay and open window signals Previously , when time delay was active , on entry of a correct code , the lock signalled three low beeps + red flashes , which indicated that time delay has started counting . This caused some confusion as the same signal indicates incorrect code . The new firmware now signals three high beeps + green flashes on entry of a correct code , before time delay begins counting .
Display keypads only : There is now a low beep + red flash every 10 seconds when time delay is counting , followed by a high beep + green flash every 10 seconds when the open window is counting .
