The Year of the Installer
7 things you didn’t know about
the ERA Installer Scheme
Security-conscious consumers rely on well-informed installers to safeguard their residential
and commercial properties and possessions with the best possible product. By making sure
that installers are confident and competent with all the latest smartware technology – and
mechanical security hardware – ERA knows that locksmiths, installers, and security specialists
will pick their product over that of a competitor. That’s why this year marks the launch of
the brand new ERA Installer Scheme. And, if you want to know more, as The Locksmith
Journal is officially supporting the new scheme, you’ve certainly come to the right place…
1. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE SMART:
For increasing numbers of installers
and lots of locksmiths, it must seem
that the only way forward in business
is to shift into smartware. It’s certainly
true that smart technology is becoming
more and more popular with home
and business owners, whilst providing
a business-boosting bolt-on for the
installer, but it isn’t the only area of
the industry that is being developed
constantly. Mechanical security is by-
no-means old-fashioned and is also
moving into modern times with style.
That is way installers can choose to
sign up to the smartware scheme, or
the traditional scheme, or if you can’t
decide which route to go down to
extend your knowledge and improve
your sales potential, why not do both?
2. A STEPPING STONE
TO HOMEOWNERS:
ERA is proud to be putting the
‘middle man’ back into the buying
process. In simple terms this means
that when a home or business
owner wants an ERA product, the
support team will match them up
to an installer in their area through
its Find An Installer portal, getting
those all-important leads for the
best installers that sell and set
up the best security products to
protect their property and keep
their family safe and sound. The
installer will be fully-trained in
the product, and can price up
the job as normal. ERA is but a
matchmaker. ERA also continues
to invest heavily in the promotion
of its installer network on both a
local and a national level, so – on
top of support from the ‘top down’
in the form of installer support
helplines, marketing materials,
product training and promotions –
installers will also be getting those
all-important grass roots contacts
that SMEs and ‘one-man-bands’
rely on.
3. THERE’S LITERALLY
NOTHING TO LOSE:
Zip, zilch, nothing, nada. That’s how
much the starter pack of branded
beanie hat, clipboard and pens, van
decals, and feedback forms for the ERA
Installer Scheme will cost when you sign
up. Then in just five simple steps you’re
ready to go:
• Go to the ERA Installer Scheme
page
• Are you an installer for Security
Hardware, Smartware or both?
• Are you a MLA Approved member?
• (entering MLA number will add a
logo to their personalised page)
• Choose the radius you want to
cover for work, which will drive the
postcode search results
• Customise your page with
information about their company and
specialisms
If you choose to upgrade your
membership, you will also receive
branded sweatshirts, polo shirts, and
jackets with the ERA logo and your own
company’s branding. Want to take part
in bespoke training courses so you can
get to grips with the ERA products?
Yeah, they’re free too.
