We now have a list of available models to choose from or the automatic identify function ; on this occasion we don ’ t know the model code so we will choose Automatic Identify to help us along …
So , we have Auto Identified the vehicle and we can see from the image the model is a W209 ; we can now carry onto the next step .

Let ’ s now reinsert the original key back into the EIS without tuning the ignition on ; wait 5 seconds then remove the key and press OK ( fig 15 ).

Our next step is to insert our original key into our KC501 in its infrared key slot ( fig 17 ) and press OK .

Press OK to confirm KC501 is connected to the device .

The next screen the device is calculating our password for our key file which will be written to our new key . This process can take approx . 5-10 minutes .

Password calculation is complete .
Next we remove our original key from our KC501 , insert it into our ignition without turning , and carry out the onscreen instructions .

Fig 19 shows our calculated password and key location screen we now choose our key location by pressing the tab indicated by the arrow and picking a slot .

As shown the data has been successfully written to our new key .

Our next step is to insert our new key into our KC501 in its infrared key slot ( fig 17 ) and press OK .
Now insert the new key into the ignition switch and allow a few seconds for it to initialize , then the key will start the vehicle and the remote will function correctly .
