Notice Board
Jit Singh, my business partner, was looking for a solid investment opportunity. He chose to invest in me, which I’ m incredibly grateful for. We’ ve known each other for over 24 years- he handled all the legal work in my previous business. We’ ve always worked with shared ethics: trust, integrity, and delivering on what we say. It’ s a professional relationship built on mutual respect and a long-standing friendship.
Can you give us a quick overview of the company?
Jackloc is based in the East Midlands, and all our products are proudly manufactured in the UK. We place a huge emphasis on quality and safety- everything is independently tested with thorough due diligence behind it. Unlike most competitors, whose products are made in the Far East, we keep everything local to maintain our standards.
When we acquired the business in 2019, it had a turnover of £ 900,000. Last year, we hit £ 2 million. We’ re a small but committed team of nine employees, and our growth has been driven by the strength of the Jackloc brand and the quality of our products- they do exactly what they’ re designed to do: prevent accidents and save lives.
Tell us more about the products: what do they do, and who are they for?
Our original product, the Pro-5 by Jackloc, is a key-lockable cable window restrictor. It allows a window to open while limiting the distance, helping to prevent accidents involving children, vulnerable adults, or pets. In today’ s world, it only takes a moment for a child to climb up or a pet to lean out too far. According to the Child Accident Prevention Trust, 1 child is admitted to A & E due to falls involving window-height incidents daily in the UK.
We also offer the Titan by Jackloc, a robust solution that serves both as a safety and security device. It carries the prestigious Secured by Design accreditation from UK police and is trusted by NHS hospitals nationwide- not only in wards caring for vulnerable adults or children but more broadly to ensure safe ventilation throughout the year. The Titan allows windows to be opened without compromising safety, significantly
reducing the risk of falls. It’ s particularly well-suited to ground-floor apartments, bungalows, and social housing, where added security and peace of mind are especially valued.
Are Jackloc products relevant to locksmiths?
Absolutely. There’ s a real market opportunity for locksmiths to offer added value to their customers- especially those in bungalows or ground-floor flats-by upselling Jackloc products as part of their security service. The Titan is particularly attractive for its dual purpose: safety and burglary prevention.
We’ ve had strong interest from locksmiths, particularly after showcasing at the MLA Expo about 18 months ago. Our products are available through all the major merchants and wholesalers, including Travis Perkins and Jewson, who supply to housing associations, developers, and end users.
What are your future plans for Jackloc?
We’ re focused on continuing our growth in the UK and expanding our footprint across Europe. We already have a distributor in place, and we’ re now present in 17 countries across Central and Western Europe.
Product development is a key part of our strategy. We actively listen to customer feedback and use it to drive innovation. The aim is to keep improving and developing the products that people need, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and security.
We’ re also committed to being available and accessible. Whether it’ s a commercial or domestic job, we offer surveys- both virtual via WhatsApp videos and in-person for larger projects- and free advice over the phone. We’ re here to help.
