LMSS SPORTS Hi everyone, I’m Ben, this years’ Sport’s Representative for the LMSS! Joining a sports team is not only great fun. It is also a great way to make friends, and get help with your studies from older years. We have a wide variety of sports teams suitable for both beginners and top level players so get involved and look out for them at the Freshers Fair and on the Facebook pages! If you have any questions or want to find a team feel free to give me a message! Many of our teams play in both local leagues and compete against other Medical Schools. With many having many successes over the past few years- our Football team regularly finish top of the university Sunday league, and won the National Association of Medical Schools (NAMS) cup in 2015 and were finalists in 2016. Our rugby team being champions and finalists of the NAMS plate in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Hockey winning the NAMS Shield in 2016 and Netball also regularly progressing to the late stages of the NAMS cup. Throughout the year I’ll keep you updated with the results from the various sports teams and any upcoming events from them. Also be sure to save a date in your diary when it comes for AU night- one of the best socials of the year where each sports team will dress up and go for a great night out on the town! Be sure to get yourselves down!
