Our first Book It! of the year is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21, from 3:30-5:30 for twenty fifth graders whose parents return permission slips. With food, games, crafts, and reading opportunities (maybe some scary stories thrown in) it promises to be a fun time. Those attending will be the first on our campus to see our new set of books with QR codes so the books can be downloaded and enjoyed that way too. Oct. 20 will be the kick off for our first Toddler Time @ 8:30 for children up to 4 years of age. All our students have been learning about digital citizenship. Just ask them what key words are and how to avoid cyberbullying. Yes, we are busy @ Cielo Vista, and RAD is on the horizon.
Our lower grades have been reminded of library manners with the books Manners in the Library and I Took My Frog to the Library. We also enjoyed There’s a Cat in the Library and discussed why the book is fiction when it is about a true happening. A strategy to choose just the right book they learned from Goldie Socks & the Three Libearians , a good book to understand with a double bubble thinking map. Our first graders are pleased that our Tail Waggin’ Tutor Slate has been visiting with his handler and hearing our 1st graders read aloud. We got ready for the visit from our therapy dog after reading Dog-Gone School.
